From Middle Persian [script needed] (plcʾnk' /⁠frazānag⁠/, wise, intelligent), which is cognate with Parthian 𐫜𐫡𐫉𐫀𐫗𐫃 (frzʾng /⁠frazānag⁠/, wise, clever). Equivalent to فرزان (farzân) + ـه (e).
