From Middle Persian [script needed] (plcʾnk' /⁠frazānag⁠/, “wise, intelligent”), which is cognate with Parthian 𐫜𐫡𐫉𐫀𐫗𐫃 (frzʾng /⁠frazānag⁠/, “wise, clever”). Equivalent to (farzân) +‎ (e).
