Identical to the verb سقر (“to burn up, scorch, damage with heat”). Compare Akkadian 𒄿𒊕𒄫 (i-šaq-qir /šaqāru, išaqqir/, “to pierce, to decimate”) and Egyptian sqr (“to strike, smite, beat with metal”).
