About the amethyst jamaz. It is as well called jamast. It is a rock similar to corundum. The most precious is the one of rosy colour. The mine where it hails from is near Aṣ-Ṣafrāʔ in the Ḥijāz, and one finds it covered in white like snow with a red hue upon its surface. One has found amethysts weighing a rottol (406.25 g) and more. It helps stomach aches when hanged around or when drunk from amethyst vessels it slows inebriation. Their price is cheap.
