بین الاقوامی
Urdu
Etymology
Coined in Urdu from Arabic بَيْنَ الأَقْوَام (bayna l-ʔaqwām, “between the peoples”) + ـی (-ī), by analogy with Classical Persian بینالمللی (baynalmilalī). The Arabic word قَوْم (qawm) is used (loaned via Classical Persian) in the sense of "nation" as is standard in Urdu. In Arabic itself, the word دُوَلِيّ (duwaliyy) has become standardised for "international". Also compare Ottoman Turkish بینالملل (beyn-elmilel)
