Borrowed from Classical Persian بَیدَق (baydaq), from Arabic بَيْدَق (baydaq), back-formation from بَيَادِق (bayādiq), from Middle Persian 𐭯𐭣𐭠𐭲𐭪' (pdʾtk' /payādag, payādak/). Doublet of پِیادَہ (piyāda).
