Inherited from Proto-Turkic *osgur- (“to fart”); cognate with Azerbaijani osurmaq, Kazakh осыру (osyru), Kyrgyz оосуруу (oosuruu), Southern Altai озырар (ozïrar), Uyghur ئوسۇرماق (osurmaq), Uzbek osuruk and Yakut утурук (uturuk).
