Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ellig (“fifty”); cognate with Old Turkic 𐰠𐰏 (ellig), Azerbaijani əlli, Bashkir илле (ille), Chuvash аллă (allă), Kazakh елу (elu), Kyrgyz элүү (elüü), Turkmen elli, Uyghur ئەللىك (ellik) and Uzbek ellik.
