תְּשׁוּקָה • (tshuká) f (plural indefinite תְּשׁוּקוֹת, singular construct תְּשׁוּקַת־)

  1. a longing, a desire, a craving
    1. Of one person for another.
    2. Of a beast to devour; hunger.
      • Tanach, Genesis 3:16, with translation of the New International Version:
        אֶֽל־הָאִשָּׁה אָמַר הַרְבָּה אַרְבֶּה עִצְּבֹונֵךְ וְהֵֽרֹנֵךְ בְּעֶצֶב תֵּֽלְדִי בָנִים וְאֶל־אִישֵׁךְ תְּשׁוּקָתֵךְ וְהוּא יִמְשָׁל־בָּֽךְ׃
