Passive of עָנָה (aná), from the root ע־נ־ה (`-n-).

     nigásh v'hú na'ané v'ló yiftákh-pív kasé latévakh yuvál ukh'rakhél lif'néi goz'zéiha v'ló yiftákh pív.

     He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.[1]
