יֶלֶד • (yéled) m (plural indefinite יְלָדִים, singular construct יֶלֶד־, plural construct יַלְדֵי־, feminine counterpart יַלְדָּה) [pattern: קֶטֶל]
- A (male) child, a (male) kid, a boy: a young (male) person.
- (specifically) A son: a person's (male) offspring or occasionally, kin. (The exception in plural form is indicated below.)
- כמה ילדים יש לכם? ― káma y'ladím yesh lakhém? ― How many children do you have? (inclusive m. & f.)
- (derogatory) An immature adult; kid, child.
