אינסצענירן

Yiddish

Alternative forms

Etymology

Probably borrowed from German inszenieren. By surface analysis, אין (in) + סצענע (stsene) + ־ירן (-irn). Alternative form אינסצעניזירן (instsenizirn) derives from Ukrainian інсценізува́ти (inscenizuváty) and/or Polish inscenizować + ־ירן (-irn). Compare also Belarusian інсцэні́раваць (insceníravacʹ), Russian инсцени́ровать (inscenírovatʹ), Ukrainian інсценува́ти (inscenuváty).
