Etymology

Borrowed from Classical Syriac ܚܨܝܢܐ (xaṣṣīnāʼ, axe, pickaxe), from Akkadian 𒍏𒄩𒍣𒅔 (ḫaṣṣinnum). This is the only instance where Syriac ܚ (x) yields Old Armenian կ (k).
