էրնջակ
Armenian
Etymology
A dialectal word recorded in Erzurum.[1] Amatuni normalizes the spelling to *երնջակ (*ernǰak),[2] but this is incorrect in view of the etymology.
Borrowed from a dialectal form of Turkish örümcek (“spider; spiderweb”). Note especially Maçka dialect erimcak.[3]
Doublet of էրունջէկ (ērunǰēk) in Yerznka dialect.
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): [eɹənˈd͡ʒɑk]
