Old Armenian

Etymology

The origin is uncertain.[1] Has often been linked with Proto-Indo-European words for ‘autumn’: Proto-Slavic *(j)esenь, Proto-Germanic *azaniz,[2][3][4][5] both from Proto-Indo-European *(s)h₁es-, but the comparison is phonologically problematic.[6]
