Etymology
The original form is probably անթ (antʻ), perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *h₂nk-ti-, *h₂nk-to- (“bending, bent arm”), suffixed from *h₂enk- (“to bend, curve”).
Alternatively, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂(V)nt-h₂-o- and cognate with Lithuanian añtis (“bosom”).
