Etymology
Variation of є́ти (jéty), ultimately inherited from Proto-Slavic *jetì (“to copulate”).[1] Cognate with Russian ебти́ (jebtí). The consonant -б- (-b-) was restored a second time under the influence of єба́ти (jebáty).[2]
