ябълка на раздора

Bulgarian

Etymology

Ultimately from Ancient Greek μῆλον τῆς Ἔριδος (mêlon tês Éridos, Eridian apple), but the Bulgarian appears to have been calqued from some other language in which the translation "apple of discord" was already in use. By surface analysis, я́бълка (jábǎlka, apple) + на (na, of) + раздо́ра (razdóra, discord, definite form of раздо́р (razdór)). This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term.
