Etymology

Possibly derived from Proto-Finno-Permic Finno-Volgaic *čark(k)ɜ (fork(-like instrument), kedge). For a similar semantic development, compare Finnish harkita (to deliberate, consider, ponder).

Akin to Moksha шарьхкодемс (šaŕhkoďems).
