холоша
Ukrainian
Etymology
From Proto-Slavic *xolča, *xolša, *kolša, thought to be borrowed from Vulgar Latin, from Latin calcea. Compare Belarusian кало́ша (kalóša, “trouser/pant leg”), Serbo-Croatian hlȁče pl (“trousers, pants”).
Alternatively related to Proto-Slavic *xoliti.
