Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Slavic *(x)lъzgati, cognate with Latvian služat (to slide, to move on ski). Akin to *lyzgati (elongated grade), *luzgati (o-grade), whence dialectal ли́згам (lízgam), лу́згам се (lúzgam se).
