Usage notes

According to some speakers, it is not customary for Kalmyks to express gratitude in everyday life; instead, a well-wish called йөрәл (yöräl) is used to express profound appreciation.
Sometimes, байрлҗанав (bayrljanav) is used instead by some speakers, on the basis that the verb ханх (xanx) can also mean "to express gratitude after sexual intercourse".
