Inherited from Proto-Mansi *tü̆kəs, cognates include Northern Mansi [script needed] (teksi), Northern Mansi таквс (takws), Western Mansi тэ́ксъ (tè́ksʺ), Southern Mansi [script needed] (tüks),[1] which is from Proto-Finno-Ugric *sükśe (“autumn”), cognates include Hungarian ősz.[2]
