торо

Erzya

Etymology

From earlier *torə. Possibly related to Proto-Uralic *terä (cutting edge); compare Finnish terä, Hungarian tőr. Soviet era dictionaries somehow omitted this word, although it appears in earlier ones and is widely presented in folklore.
