From *tik(k)ä (“steep(ly), vertical(ly)”), an adverbial form derived from Proto-Turkic *dik- (“to plant vertically”).[1]
Cognate with Kazakh тіке (tıke, “steep, vertical”), Kyrgyz тике (tike, “steeply, vertically”), Uzbek tikka (“steep, vertical”), Uyghur تىككە (tikke, “vertical”).
