стихоплетец
Bulgarian
Alternative forms
- стихопле́т (stihoplét)
Etymology
By surface analysis, стих (stih, “poem”) + -о- (-o-, an excrescence for euphony) + плетец (pletec, “tier”), literally “poem-tier”, i.e. someone who ties knots in his poems; this surface analysis is also likely the true derivation of the term. Compare Russian стихоплёт (stixopljót).
