Etymology
From Proto-Samoyedic *sokə, from Proto-Uralic *śukke.
Related to Northern Sami čohkka and Vym Komi-Permyak чук (ćuk, “mountain top, small hill”). Cognate with Tundra Nenets сохо (soxo).
