Etymology
Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic съборъ (sŭborŭ) (a calque of Ancient Greek συναγωγή (sunagōgḗ)), from Proto-Slavic *sъborъ. Doublet of збор (zbor), the inherited East Slavic form. Compare Russian собо́р (sobór) ~ сбор (sbor).
