Possibly a univerbation of по (po) + близу (blyzu), inflected form of obsolete близ m (blyz, “vicinity”, noun).[1][2] Compare Belarusian паблі́зу (pablízu), Russian вблизи́ (vblizí), Polish w pobliżu.
