лезо
Ukrainian
Etymology
Inherited from Old East Slavic лезъ (lezŭ, “point of a blade”). Further etymology is unclear. Trubachyov proposes that the term came from the honey hunting lexicon and is related to лі́зти (lízty, “to climb”).[1] Compare Russian ле́звие (lézvije), Belarusian лязо́ (ljazó).
