Etymology
Borrowed from a Turkic source. The Kipchaks themselves derived their name as meaning "hollow tree" (Karakhanid kuv ağaç, from Proto-Turkic *ïgač (“tree”)).[1] Compare Chagatay [script needed] (Qipčaq), Turkish Kıpçak. More at Kipchaks.
