From *yana (“again”), from Proto-Turkic *yan- (“to return, turn back”).[1]

Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (jana, “again”) (in Irk Bitig); Kazakh және (jäne, “and”); Kyrgyz жана (jana, “again”), Uzbek yana (“again”), Uyghur يانا (yana), يەنە (yene, “again”), Turkmen ýene (“again”), Turkish yine (“again”).
