жиза
Russian
Alternative forms
- жизза (žizza) — far less common
Etymology
A clipping derived one way or another from жизнь (žiznʹ, “life”). If directly, then cf. винда́ (vindá) < Ви́ндоуз (Víndouz) for the conversion to a class 1 feminine noun. Semantically, however, it corresponds better to жи́зненный (žíznennyj, “relatable”).
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): [ˈʐɨzə]
Audio (file) - IPA(key): [ʐɨˈza] (slightly less common)
