егати
Bulgarian
Etymology
Fossilized phrase, probably equivalent to (obsolete) ега́ (egá, “[I] condemn”, 1p. sg.) + ти (ti, “thee”), cognate with Russian е́гать (jégatʹ), яга́ть (jagátʹ, “to blaze, to rush; to scold, to condemn”), Slovene ję́gati (“to insinuate, to intimate”). Perhaps from an obsolete *ěgati (?)
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): [ɛˈɡati]

Interjection
егати • (egati) (colloquial)
Usage notes
егати (egati) is used as a less profane counterpart to ебати (ebati) / ебаси (ebasi) (from еба́ (ebá, “to copulate”)), which are vulgar.
