Etymology
Borrowed from Turkish dalavere (“scam”) or Greek νταραβέρι (ntaravéri, “transaction, relationship, commotion”), from the clipping of Italian dare (“giving”) + avere (“taking”). Akin to Macedonian далавера (dalavera), Laz დალავერა (dalavera), Armenian տալավէրա (talavēra), Greek νταλαβέρα (ntalavéra).
