Etymology

Borrowed from Turkish dalavere (scam) or Greek νταραβέρι (ntaravéri, transaction, relationship, commotion), from the clipping of Italian dare (giving) + avere (taking). Akin to Macedonian далавера (dalavera), Laz დალავერა (dalavera), Armenian տալավէրա (talavēra), Greek νταλαβέρα (ntalavéra).
