въдя

Bulgarian

Etymology

Formally reflects earlier *vъditi (to procreate), akin to Macedonian веде (vede, to hatch, to multiply). Probably further related to *vesti (to lead, to conduct). Compare Russian разводи́ть (razvodítʹ, to breed), конево́д (konevód, horse-breeder) (derived from related *voditi, *vodъ) and synonymous Bulgarian развъдя (razvǎdja), коневъд (konevǎd).
