Cognate with Chuvash пӑс (păs, “break, destroy”), Old Uyghur [script needed] (buz-, “to break, destroy”);[2] Kazakh бұзу (būzu), Kyrgyz бузуу (buzuu), Uzbek buzmoq (“to break”).
