σχεδία
See also: σχέδια
Ancient Greek
Etymology
Unknown. Traditionally believed to be a substantivazion of the adjective σχέδιος (skhédios, “near, close”). Alternatively, a collective abstract formation in -ία (-ía) from σχεδόν (skhedón, “near; approximatively, roughly”), with original meaning "unprepared formation, improvisation". However, the semantics are not convincing.
