κιλλός

See also: κίλλος

Ancient Greek

Etymology

For the root vocalism, it is possible to compare πιλνός (pilnós, grey) beside πελιός (peliós, livid). Formally, this word is a reminiscent of κελαινός (kelainós, dark), but ultimately there is no convincing etymology.
