Etymology
From ιστο- (isto-, “histo-”) + -λόγιο (-lógio, suffix for lists, catalogues). Calque of English weblog, blog. From Ancient Greek ἱστός (histós, “web”) (see histo-), and from Hellenistic Koine -λόγιον (-lógion, “compilation”). Compare with English -logue,e.g. catalogue).
