γεργέριμος

Ancient Greek

Etymology

Semitic origin seems possible: Hemmerdinger connects the word with Hebrew גַּרְגְּרִים (garg'rīm, ripe olives). Therefore, the word is rather not related to γέρων (gérōn, old).
