Etymology 1
From ora, aphetic form of ahora + le. Some other Mexican Spanish exclamations used to exhort are proparoxytone imperative forms ending with -le (ándale, apúrale, córrele, etc.).
Unrelated to the imperative órale (“pray!; say!”) (Etymology 2), though perhaps influenced by it due to folk etymology.
