Pedagogy, in its broadest interpretation, refers to the methods of teaching. However, historically, and more narrowly, the term refers to teaching children. Thus, alternative terms such as andragogy, to refer to how adults learn, and combined terms, such as humanagogy, heutagogy, and pedandragogy have been proposed to synthesise distinctions between child and adult learning.
