Data Mining

Data mining can be done cost effectively on the moon because anyone living there is only a second or two delay away from the main Terran databases on Earth. Local duplication and caching should keep bandwidth and access costs reasonable for the ever increasing volumes of data publicly available via the internet.

Given near 100% efficiency in recycling expendables, this type of human intensive effort could eventually help finance grow of imports of elements missing from the moon that are critical to expanding our lunar local ecosystems and habitats.
