Introduction

This learning project explores the Encyclopedia of Life as a learning resource and partner for Wikimedia Foundation wiki-based projects such as Wikiversity.

Multimedia content

In 2001, Wikipedia started as a mainly text-based encyclopedia. Demo pages for Encyclopedia of Life indicate the intention of using audio and video content. Wikiversity has many projects related to the expansion of the MediaWiki software to make it easy for Wikiversity participants to create and use multimedia learning resources. How can education-oriented websites efficiently create and share multimedia learning resources?
