Basic forms of an adjective
Using basic Adjectives:
Red:
- あかい (akai, red.) Present tense.
- あかかった (akakatta, was red.) Past tense.
Examples using Kanji:
- それは 赤い です。(sore wa akai desu, that is red.)
- これは 長い です。(kore wa nagai desu, this is long.)
- それは 赤かった です。(sore wa akakatta desu, that was red.)
