In the name of the Great Life.
Adam and Hawwā (216,000 years)
In the first day,
in the first place,
in the first hour,
when (Abathur and) Ptahil came,
stretched out the heavens,
sealed the earth,
stretched out the firmament,
divided the seas,
cut out the mountains,
created the fishes in the seas,
the feathered birds and the cattle of every kind,
fruits, grapes and trees as food and drink for Adam,
created Hawwā [Eve] and all her descendants,
created fragrant plants, seeds, flowers, leaves and medicinal herbs,
then (Abathur and) Ptahil considered, saw his form, created Adam the man,
and created for him Hawwā the woman,
from whom the race spread throughout the world.
Then the measure and number of this world were given.
From the day Adam was created until the end of the worlds it is 480,000 years.
Then the measure and number were given to the 7 planets and the 12 rulers. The measure was divided into 7 parts equal among themselves, so that nobody has too much, nobody too little. To each man fell as a share 68,571 years, 5 months, 4 days, 6.5 hours, 4 minutes and 1.5 seconds (= 480,000 / 7).
The 12 zodiacal signs stay beside the 7 planets, and the 7 planets stay beside the 12 zodiacal signs. The 12 zodiacal signs exist starting from the years of Bēl when Bēl has 9,000 years left. The 12 zodiacal signs receive from him, then they last 9,000 years together with Bēl and 69,000 years together with Nerig. From these 78,000 years that the 12 zodiacal signs last, they allotted the following years:
- to Aries 12,000 years,
- to Taurus 11,000 years,
- to Gemini 10,000 years,
- to Cancer 9,000 years,
- to Leo 8,000 years,
- to Virgo 7,000 years,
- to Libra 6,000 years,
- to Scorpio 5,000 years,
- to Sagittarius 4,000 years,
- to Capricorn 3,000 years,
- to Aquarius 2,000 years,
- to Pisces 1,000 years.
Then, from the day Adam was created until the world was taken away by sword and plague, there are 216,000 years.
Rām and Rūd (156,000 years)
In the years of the star Sin (the moon), 10,000 years went from the years of Sin until the world was taken away by sword and plague. From them, 2 people were brought to life, a man named Rām and a woman named Rūd, from whom the world was brought to life.
Until the world was taken away by fire, it is 156,000 years. When 29,000 years had passed from the years of Bēl, the world was taken away by fire. It consumed the whole world, it consumed 12... dust on the earth.
Šurbai and Šarhabēl (100,000 years)
Then 2 people were brought to life by them, a man named Šurbai and a woman named Šarhabēl, by whom the world was brought to life. From the day the world was taken away by fire until it was taken away by water, it was 100,000 years.
Noah
Then, when there were 8,000 years left of the years [of Nerig], a call went out to Noah to build the ark, saying to him, "Build an ark." Then Noah, according to the command, brought carpenters, cut down cedars from Amanus and female cedars from Lebanon, and built for 300 years. He assembled the ark with a length of 300 cubits, a width of 50 cubits, and a height of 30 cubits. Then Noah took 2 of each kind, male and female, and brought them up into the ark.
Then through 42 days and 42 nights the upper springs of water came down from heaven and the lower springs of water from the earth, flooding the mountains and inundating the high places. Then the whole world was carried away by water.
The ark floated on the water 11 months. After 11 months, there was peace, and the ark sank down and sat on Mount Qardūn. Then Noah realized in his soul that there was peace in the world. Noah then sent out the raven and said to it, "Go, see if there is peace in the world." The raven went and found a corpse. He ate from it and forgot what Noah commanded him.
Then Noah sent the dove after him and said to it, "Go, see if there is peace in the world. Where is the raven which I sent before you?" So the dove went and found the raven sitting over a corpse and eating from it. She saw the olive tree that stood on Mount Qardūn with its leaves sticking out of the water. The dove plucked from it and brought it to Noah so that he might know in his soul that peace had come. Then he cursed the raven and blessed the dove.
After Noah
Then the age was preserved to Šum (Shem), son of Noah, and his wife Nhūraitā, by whom the world was revived.
Then 6,000 years passed, and 2,000 years remained.
Then Jōrabbā (whom the Jews call Adōnai), his comrade Rūhā, and the 7 planets planned to join forces. At the command of Adōnai, they built a city called the place of Jerusalem. 60 miles it measured in breadth. 1,000 years it was to stand in prosperity, 1,000 years in desolation, and the whole of Tibil was then to be laid waste.
Abraham and the exodus from Egypt
Then Abraham, the father of the Jews, was created. He and all his tribe went to the land of the Egyptians, whose king was named King Pharaoh. The Jews had to endure much evil from the Egyptians and King Pharaoh. Then Jōrabbā Rūhā and the god they worshiped led them out of the land of the Egyptians. The Jews made haste when their God led them out, and in one day they passed through the sea. He split [the sea] for them, and the waters of the sea rose up into two ramparts, like two mountains, so that all the Jews passed through. They then wandered through the desolate wasteland. Then they entered Jerusalem and settled there. Then King Pharaoh came after them, he and all his army. 70 myriads, 770,000 Egyptians were with King Pharaoh. He sees the sea without any ships, rafts and fords. Then Pharaoh sees a way on the bottom of the sea, while the water of the sea has contracted to two mountains. Then the whole phalanx of King Pharaoh descended behind the Jews, then the sea swallowed the phalanx of King Pharaoh. Only King Pharaoh with his friends and helpers escaped.
Jesus
Then, until 400 years passed in Jerusalem, Jesus son of Miriam was not born in Jerusalem. Then Jesus, the head of the Christians, was born. He created for himself a church and chose for himself a congregation.

Now I say that for the kings who (live) from the floods of water until now and until the years of the kings are completed, the years that each king reigns are pronounced.

- After him was King of Kings Kosrau, son of Kosrau, son of Hormiṣ. He reigned 38 years. In the 38th year, the sun showed signs.
- Then Kosrau left, and Šēroē took the reign.
So, from the day Jerusalem was destroyed until King Jazdigar, son of Bahrān, took over from the Persians, 594 years will pass from this last 1,000. From this last 1,000 of the fishes, when the world stands in the 701st year of the fishes, it will be divided.
89 other years, it will be in prosperity, and 210 years in misfortune.
Years 790-850
About these years it is said: When the world stands in the 790th year, the water will be absent from now on, the whole world will be hit by drought. The gods and kings will show all kinds of signs in (all) years and months among mankind. From this place to the whole world, everywhere will be hit by drought.
It is further said: When the fishes are in the 791st year, the water will be absent, and God will release the north (wind) with each and every wind.
When the fishes are in the 792nd year, it is said that the Arabs will rise from every district, a black cloud will rise and come, and the cattle will flee from the king of Babylon.
When the fishes are in the 793rd year, it is said that the king of the Arabs will die, the Arabs will fall upon each other, and there will be a devastation in the land of Babylon among cattle and people.
When Pisces is in the 794th year, it is said that the earth will tremble 3 times a day, a light will appear in the night once during midnight in the whole world, the star Bēl (Jupiter) will shine more than the sun, will shine in the sky.
When the world is in the 795th year, it is said that the wolf will rise from the land and come and unleash havoc among the people, various kings will die, the Arabs will become the lords of the whole world in the years of that wolf. Falseness will become [commonplace].... In the month of February, in the Aquarius of the Mesenians, on Wednesday, the falsity will become the sun....
Further, it is said that the king of Babel will come to Babel, and the cattle of Babel will come to Babel, and in Ṭurān (?) the barbarians will come to rule.
When the world stands in the 796th year, it is said that landmarks will appear in every place, among the horses and men of the world. In the cities there are shortages, grain is lacking; iniquities, drowning (?) and hail come, among the four-footed animals and among ... lightning will cause damage.
When the world stands in the 797th year, it is said about it that 2 rulers will mock each other; with horses and men they will mock (each other).
When the world is in the 798th year, it is said that one of the rulers will die and there will be only one in the whole world.
When the world is in the 799th year, it is said that a voice will come to the people.... will come to them.
When the world is in the 800th year, it is said that horses and men in the whole world, from great to small, will [come] to the field and to one place, that in the whole world.... Then she will seek them greatly, and there will be a battle. In the month of June, the twins of the Mesenians, on the first day of the month, there will be a 2.5-hour battle. Out of every 1,700 men who go out to fight, 3 will be left.
When the world stands in the 802nd year, it is said about it that few men will be there for the women *** one thing will be much. It is said about it that 7 women will sit at the aisle and say: We will wait for a man to pass in the streets. They will stand at the gate, go out and look for a man without finding him. They will fall around the man's neck and kiss him 1,000 times. For there will be few men to be found in the world. Furthermore, it is said about it: When that time comes, there will be much strife, and few men will escape. 7 or 8 wives will fall to a man as a share, and the man will wish evil on account of the wives.
It is said: when the world goes out from the 803rd year of Pisces, do not ask at all about the plagues of the world (which will be) from that time on. It is said about it that when Kēwān (Saturn) is in Scorpio and he then comes out of Scorpio and enters into Leo, the great Euphrates will pour over the Tigris, the land of Babel will lie desolate 50 years before (facing) the land of Gaukai. The land of Gaukai will be devastated, and in the land of Gaukai, a Kafīz seed will be sought by five people and not be found.
It is said that a lying Messiah will come, will become lord over the whole world, will sit on a great throne and will judge on it while removing the other judges. From the east to the west, he will come in one day, until the brick from the wall testifies for him.
When the world is in the 850th year of Pisces, great plague will come.
Arab kings
Then, after the Persian kings, there will be Arab kings. They will reign for 71 years. During the years of those Arab kings:
- The world will be lying.
- The steeds of the earth, the camels, the freemen, the servants and maids, the little boys and girls, the women and the freemen will find no stability and rest.
- In the years of those kings, the father will have no power over the son, the mother over the daughter, the master will have no power over the servant.
- Those kings will skin people like gazelles and wild asses.
- In the years of those kings, whoever had many sons will [lose] them except for one son.
- Then they wish: Hail to him who would have a son. Gold and silver, horses and camels, bulls, donkeys and sheep will be there in (limited) numbers.
- The fish will fly up from the sea.
- The wild asses will come to him on the mountains ...
- Everything created, in general every thing will be perverted.
- The rich will be poor, the poor will be rich.
- The houses will become level fields, the level fields will become houses.
- The outstanding will become deaf-mutes, the deaf-mutes will become outstanding.
- The master will become the servant, the servant will become the noble...
- Deceit and deception will reign among men.
- The temples will be destroyed, the houses of worship destroyed.
- The heavens [will darken?],
- the righteous will become deceivers and be greedy for possessions.
- One deception will come from earth, one from heaven. Both will mix with each other and cover the people.
- No rain will fall from heaven, and the earth will not bring forth fruit in due season.
- Nothing will happen in due time, and iniquity will descend upon the earth.
Then there will be a time of death, infirmity and disease.
- Fire will break out at all times, and snow will fall in abundance.
- From one city to another, from one locality to another, two or three cannot go together.
- The son fights his father and drives him out of the house during his lifetime.
- The mother drives out her daughter before the time and demands daily fees from her.
- The magicians and scribes pervert the Nask and the Book by oaths.
- By night the thieves go out, make the ways unsafe and take out the property.
- The fish go out in the ocean and the (other) seas.
- From time to time the sea and the water come in quantity, wreak much havoc and destroy fruit, grape and tree.
- The far becomes near, and near becomes far.
- No one is honest with his own people, but with strangers one deals justly.
- Well-ordered people pose for vanity and for deceptive testimony.
- Oaths are demanded from people like a dog asking for bread.
- The friend does not keep it nice with his friend, but they go after each other in jealousy.
- Deceitful men give empty words as a woman's gift, and the virgin becomes their comrade.
- Women send out after men for adultery, women leave their spouses and demand them before the court.
- Men become deceitful and wicked and fight their father and mother.
- The brother deals deceitfully with his brother, the son with his father, the servant with his master, the maid with her mistress, the wife murders her husband and joins another. So then, deceit and wickedness will reign among men.
- The demons, fiends, ekurs and altar spirits make people dull, so that the people of the world are without understanding and are maltreated.
- The gods become bitter with the people and deprive them of their due share. Soon they show weakness of age and a failing body, and they are given a short measure.
- Deceit and deception spread. To their faces they say beautiful words, and behind their backs they say ugly words. Because of this falsehood they do, barley, wine yield and everything else is found in small quantity.
- They sow abundantly and achieve little.
- They acquire rich possessions and do not become full.
- When they eat, they do not become full.
- At all times calamity and evil befall them.
- On grasses and barley the earth remains without growth.
- Fruit, grape and tree dry up. A lying impurity *****.
Afterwards the nations rise and fight with each other. The people who live in the deserts go against the people who live in the houses and take the cities. The Persians, Parthians, Romans [Byzantines], Sigistanis [Segestanis] and the other nations fight with each other. Then the desert dwellers [Bedouins] are victorious and bring misery on those who live in houses. In the 71 years they rule ***** and bring good, and good ******
The sons gather together with their parents, the wives together with their husbands, the brothers together with their brothers after a place. Then with their own hand one kills the other.
Then the shore land of Gaukai remains in bloom for 50 years.
After that, the shore land of Babel will change as the desolation of this shore land of Babel occurs.
- The Arabian kings of Kardus revolt.
- The four winds come out.
- The Burdean king and the Simraean king come, revolt against each other and plunder this shore land of Babel from west to east.
- From this shore land of Gaukai, 12,000 are plundered.
Then 50 years remain that the shore land of Gaukai is in bloom.
When years of the 50 years pass, a gold mountain rises in Dašt-Misaq, 7 lands and 7 kings come together on it and hold an assembly. The kings rise and appoint a king of kings. They speak to the king of kings: "Let us make an appointment that the great man shall not stand in honor more than the slave."
After they made the appointment, a king came down from the firmament and whispered to the king of kings. The king of kings does not see him, while all the people see him.
Then they say to the king of kings, "What did this man who came down from the firmament and whispered in your ear tell you?"
Then he says to them, "You are lying."
Then the kings say to the king of kings, "Then the appointment we made is Lug."
Then the kings say to the king of kings, "Get up, let us look each other in the face."
They then jump up and fall upon each other. Then that king comes, lets go his horse, and it strides over them up to the saddle in blood, and the swirl of blood gets up to his nostrils. One ... the other, and every one that remains runs after one he kills, saying to him, "I kill, but why stay I behind?" Thereupon the women take hold of each other by the hem of their robes, and look for the ... and image of a man and find none. Then they take their gold and silver and throw them on the dunghill.
Then King Mzarz comes. He reigns for 12 years. He creates trust in the gods, and God is pleasing to him. He repels the nomads in the deserts [Bedouins], and he brings near the ones the sedentary people who stay in their places. Good things come to the city, and the people walk in happiness.
After that, the water rises from the ocean and brings much calamity.
After that, something difficult occurs in the world. The outstanding men as well as the deaf-mutes go to the battlefuekd, and from them only a few people survive from the battlefield.
After that another king rises, whose name is Sarqid, son of Warzigar. He reigns for 7 years.
Then another king rises, whose name is Šērāsp. He reigns 7 and twenty years.
During the years of those kings, no wickedness will attach to the people. They will not stir up strife, seek possessions, or eat excessively. Each one will sit in his own house, and strife, torment and battle will not be among them. No one will be able to practice deception and deceit against his neighbor. If he practices deception, he will be torn to pieces. If this speech ...
And signs ***. A shining star arises, it descends to the earth and remains for 7 days and 7 nights.
After him rises the king Wazan. He reigns 5 years.
- In the years of that king everything will stand well.
- The gods will be honored.
- All the cities and places of worship will be in bloom,
- the degree will come into its own,
- and the people will not be greedy for money.
- In those days there will be enough wine in one measure for 30 people to drink their fill,
- and enough barley grains in one ardeb for 50 people to eat.
- Everything will stand well, and there will be no measure for men.
Then this sign will come to pass, that from heaven a star will fall down and fall into the ocean. Red water will flow in the 7 seas. A woman who drinks of that water will become barren and lose her mind. She sends out for men and says to them, "You there, lie down with me."
Then other signs occur. A storm wind rises, dust comes with it and covers the gates of men. Then the king holds an assembly, asks the people, and says to them, "Have you ever seen or heard anything like what has now occurred?"
But the people do not know anything to say to him. After them, King Wazan asks the spirits of the dead if it is written down that this event should occur at the end of the world, which never occurred before. Then the spirits of the dead say to him: "You do not know that when a shining star falls from the sky, a storm wind rises, dust comes with it and covers the houses of the people - you must know that the word written down about the end of the world has come to fulfillment. But you, O King, have acted beautifully for God, therefore you need not worry about this word. Yes, when you die, your spirits of the dead will feed as well as when you are alive."
The ends of times
After that the king Parašai Sifa, son of the king Burzan (Burzin), rises. His reign lasts until the end of the worlds. In the years of that king there will be much welfare and justice. There will be no winter.
Then the living water will be cut off, it will not come and will not rise. Green water will come out of the ocean, and the souls who breathe the fragrance of that water will depart from their bodies.
Then they take the star Bēl from among his brothers, clothe him with the robe of Ptahil and cover him with the mantle of Ptahil, put the wreath of Ptahil on his head and place him on the throne of Ptahil. 42 years (he sits) in the desolate wasteland.
Then they say to him, "Come up, lay aside your robe, your covering and your wreath. They belong to Ptahil, and we will lift them up to the brightness of the sun, to the brightness of the moon, to the gleam of the stars, to the power of the water, to the power of the wind, to the glow of the fire, and to the density of the earth."
Then Bēl says to them, "Only last night I sat down on this throne, and (already) now you say, "Up, lay down!" Then they lift up the robe, the cover and the wreath of Ptahil to their place.
Then the great old Leviathan is released from his bonds. The thickness of the lip of his mouth is 144,000 miles. He opens his mouth, swallows the earth Tibil and devours the 7 planets with their 12 kings and 5 rulers, as well as all the Hmurthās, Ekurs and Altar spirits, the demons, Dēws, Liliths and all the souls found guilty in the court of justice who denied the first life; they are cut off in darkness. Then he presses his mouth together, whereupon all die in his body and his stench rises from Tibil to the heights.
Then all the Uthras of the Lightworld come and stand at the edge of this world and say: "So rise the stench of everyone who thinks of creating a world like this world that Ptahil created. Whereas this world shall last 1,000 times 1,000 myriads of years. This world is called splendor and light. All the souls of the excellent men who confessed the first Life are not found guilty in the court and do not die a second death. Their souls dwell here in Life."
Life to our knowers,
life to our understanders,
life to the men who instruct us.
Life is victorious over all works for all eternity.
