Mr. Robert Dunlop

News has reached Dublin of the death at Graz, Austria, on October 6, of Mr. Robert Dunlop, the authority on modern Irish history. Although he was a native of Scotland, Mr. Dunlop held the post of Lecturer in Irish History at Manchester University for some 10 years before the War. Among his contributions to Irish history are two volumes of records of Ireland under the Commonwealth and Lives of Grattan and Daniel O'Connell. He contributed great numbers of biographies to the "Dictionary of National Biography," and wrote the chapters on Irish history for the "Cambridge Modern History."
