CHASTITY.

She had that time upon her back
A glorious gown of white,
And in her hand that chrystal targe
That wrought Medusa spite.

And in the same a pillar was
Erect of jasper stone,
Wherein a chain of diamonds
Were placed one by one;
And topases mixed in the midst,
Which virtuous dames did use——
