In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful. | Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi | |
079:001 | By those that take the person forcibly. | WaalnnaziAAati gharqan |
079:002 | And those that take the person gently. | Waalnnashitati nashtan |
079:003 | And those that swim along. | Waalssabihati sabhan |
079:004 | And those that press forward in a race. | Faalssabiqati sabqan |
079:005 | So as to carry out a command. | Faalmudabbirati amran |
079:006 | On the Day the ground shakes. | Yawma tarjufu alrrajifatu |
079:007 | It will be followed by the second blow. | TatbaAAuha alrradifatu |
079:008 | Hearts on that Day will be terrified. | Quloobun yawma-ithin wajifatun |
079:009 | Their eyes cast down. | Absaruha khashiAAatun |
079:010 | They will Say: "Shall we be returned to live our lives." | Yaqooloona a-inna lamardoodoona fee alhafirati |
079:011 | "Even after we were crumbled bones?" | A-itha kunna AAithaman nakhiratan |
079:012 | They said: "This is an impossible recurrence." | Qaloo tilka ithan karratun khasiratun |
079:013 | But all it takes is one blow. | Fa-innama hiya zajratun wahidatun |
079:014 | Whereupon they will rise-up. | Fa-itha hum bialssahirati |
079:015 | Did the story of Moses come to you? | Hal ataka hadeethu moosa |
079:016 | His Lord called him at the holy valley of Tuwa. | Ith nadahu rabbuhu bialwadi almuqaddasi tuwan |
079:017 | "Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed." | Ithhab ila firAAawna innahu tagha |
079:018 | Tell him: "Would you not be purified?" | Faqul hal laka ila an tazakka |
079:019 | "And I will guide you to your Lord, that you may turn reverent." | Waahdiyaka ila rabbika fatakhsha |
079:020 | He then showed him the great miracle. | Faarahu al-ayata alkubra |
079:021 | But he disbelieved and rebelled. | Fakaththaba waAAasa |
079:022 | Then he turned away in a hurry. | Thumma adbara yasAAa |
079:023 | So he gathered and proclaimed. | Fahashara fanada |
079:024 | He said: "I am your lord, the most high." | Faqala ana rabbukumu al-aAAla |
079:025 | So God seized him with retribution in the Hereafter, as well as in the first life. | Faakhathahu Allahu nakala al-akhirati waal-oola |
079:026 | In that is a lesson for those who are aware. | Inna fee thalika laAAibratan liman yakhsha |

079:027 | Are you a more powerful creation than the sky which He built? | Aantum ashaddu khalqan ami alssamao banaha |
079:028 | He raised its height, and perfected it. | RafaAAa samkaha fasawwaha |
079:029 | And He covered its night and brought out its morning. | Waaghtasha laylaha waakhraja duhaha |
079:030 | And the land after that He spread out. | Waal-arda baAAda thalika dahaha |
079:031 | He brought forth from it its water and pasture. | Akhraja minha maaha wamarAAaha |
079:032 | And the mountains He fixed firmly. | Waaljibala arsaha |
079:033 | All this to be a provision for you and your livestock. | MataAAan lakum wali-anAAamikum |
079:034 | Then, when the great blow comes. | Fa-itha jaati alttammatu alkubra |
079:035 | The Day when the human remembers all that he strove for. | Yawma yatathakkaru al-insanu ma saAAa |
079:036 | And Hell will be apparent to all who can see. | Waburrizati aljaheemu liman yara |
079:037 | As for the one who transgressed. | Faamma man tagha |
079:038 | And he was preoccupied with the worldly life. | Waathara alhayata alddunya |
079:039 | Then Hell will be the abode. | Fa-inna aljaheema hiya alma/wa |
079:040 | And as for the one who reverenced the majesty of his Lord, and restrained himself from desire. | Waama man khafa maqama rabbihi wanaha alnnafsa AAani alhawa |
079:041 | The Paradise will be the abode. | Fa-inna aljannata hiya alma/wa |
079:042 | They ask you about the Hour: "When is its appointed time?" | Yas-aloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha |
079:043 | You have no knowledge if it. | Feema anta min thikraha |
079:044 | To your Lord is its term. | Ila rabbika muntahaha |
079:045 | You are simply to warn those who fear it. | Innama anta munthiru man yakhshaha |
079:046 | For the Day they see it, it will be as if they had remained one evening or half a day. | Kaannahum yawma yarawnaha lam yalbathoo illa AAashiyyatan aw duhaha |
