I entered his room; it had an austere appearance,
almost monkish. An iron bedstead, a work-table, and some toilette furniture. The light was dim. There was nothing "cosy" about it; what was necessary was there, but nothing more.
Captain Nemo pointed to a seat.
"Won't you sit down," he said.
